Discovery College is a team effort. Though Discovery College is primarily for young people, we depend on a network to support young people to be part of it and enjoy it.

Partners

Check out the partners page to see all the people and organisations that are part of Discovery College. Some of them are from statutory services like Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and East Sussex County Council, and others are Third Sector organisations, who are committed to the Discovery College way of working, and raise funds themselves to run courses and projects. We are always keen to hear from organisations with ideas about how they could work with us.

Peers

Young people who have enjoyed coming to Discovery College, and feel ready to give back as Peer Trainers and Trainee Peers. They use the benefit of their lived experience as well as their training to be part of the facilitation team for each course. We encourage any young person who is wondering about this to get in touch with us – just send us an email, and we will get back in touch with you.

Parents and Carers

We know how important you are in reminding your young people when a session is coming up, reassuring when they might be feeling anxious, driving them to sessions, staying in touch with us and giving us feedback. And we love to see you at our end of year shows. We hope you always feel welcome to speak to someone involved in your child’s course.

Practitioners

Whether you are working in schools, for CAMHS, for the Early Help Keywork Team, iRock, or the other important agencies that support young people, you have a vital role in letting young people know about what we do, and encouraging them to get over that initial threshold that is scary. We hope to make it easy for you to talk about us to your young people. We are always happy to talk with you about whether a course might be right for a particular young person, and how we can help them to join.
